Re: BT disconnects
Add my phone to the list. I use a Motorola DJ S805 stereo headphones.
I get great audio sound and have no problems when using the headphones to listen to music (I too have done the A2DP modsproblem http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread...Mogul+registry) . However, I have experienced dropped calls and disconnection of the headset during a call. I actually just hung up and called back in both scenarios and was again cut off a few minutes later. It has happened every time I have used the headset for calls. It happened anywhere from 2 to 6 minutes into my calls. edit--> I have tested a few things this morning. I can reproduce the following scenarios: 1) If I call. I the headset gets disconnected from the phone. I cannot hear the call using the phone or the headset, but it is still connected. The blue bluetooth indicator light is on, the Comm manager icon is green implying that the comm manager thinks it is on and the default phone dialer program shows a headset icon. I can hear the call if I turn bluetooth off in comm manager but only on the phone. When I turn bluetooth off and back on , I have to hang up the call to get the headset sound back on again. 2) If the headset is disconnected from the phone and I end the call, the headset reconnects and then I can make a call and will be connected for a few minutes again. </edit> I have not unistalled the A2DP hacks. I just got these headphones and contacted Motorola via e-mail who is willing to replace the headphones, but after reading this board, I think the problems is with the phone. edit --> Soft resets have had no effect. </edit> :violent2: Other info: running latest Sprint ROM, pocket breeze, sprite backup, Blue HTC Cube (poorlyduck's), HTC Home plugin (xda), HTC Home customizer, PHM editor, JUVS HTC Album Google maps Several other reg edits from the above thread. |
Re: BT disconnects
This has to be an issue with HTC. I had the exact same problem on my HTC Touch...I thought it was the phone until I had the problem on my Mogul....then I thought it might be my headset.
I swapped headsets and have the same problem. The problem is annoying in itself, but then to add that it happen IN a call...that is outrageous!!! NOTE: I just called HTC - actaully UTSTARCOM who support the CDMA SPrint Mogul. The guy that I talked to had not heard of the issue, but did take my word that I was not the only one with the problem. He is passing the details on to an engineer and I am supposed to get a call back (knock on wood). Maybe they can find a solution!!!!!! |

Re: BT disconnects
hopefully HTC will find a problem and release a fix, im not holding my breathe.
i guess it seems the main difference i am having from you guys, if i stop/start bluetooth again or wait long enough, i am able to switch back to the headset like normal and all is well. it is just like the driver crashes or something and then windows auto restarts it after a certain amount of time or i can manually restart it to get it going again. annoying none the less, especially when driving and relying on the gps to get you somewhere. ;) |

Re: BT disconnects
having same issues, bluetooth randomly cuts itself off. i thought it was something with my Blueant Z9 headset, but today it did it while i was transferring ringtones to a friend without the headset connected. i also at one point after turning bluetooth back on and connecting to my Z9, got no sound through speaker, calls, voicemail until i restarted phone.

Re: BT disconnects
Well, here is another shot....
When I first got my Mogul (and also my touch) I did the Battery and Performance hacks that I found on this board...so i had problems with my bluetooth the whole time...making me think that it was my bluetooth... However, I read on here somewhere that the Battery and Performance hacks may be causing the problem. So, I removed those hacls. Since I have removed them, my bluetooth has not shut off at all....Hmmmmm It has been almost 2 days now....so I am feeling good about it... May be something to look into....Hope it helps someone!!! |

Re: BT disconnects
I was having this problem as well with my car's built-in hands free. I tried setting all of the battery/performance/a2dp hacks back to their original settings, one by one, and altogether, and this had no impact on the disconnects, so I put them back to the hacked settings.
Then, I found a thread discussing this issue with a different device, and it suggested setting the registry key HKLM\Comm\Parms\ value AllowSuspend to 0. I did this, and have had no disconnects for over a week. Now, this will drain your battery quicker, but I have the mugen 1800, so its not an issue for me to get a couple of hours less battery (still better than the OEM battery) in return for losing the hassle of dropping calls as described here. |
