Windows 6.1 and VX6800
 

Hey there,

Now that Windows Mobile 6.1 is out, how do upgrades work? Will our VX6800s get updated via auto-update or do we go to the Microsoft site? Do we have to pay for a new OS? Anyone hear anything?

Well I did a little digging not much, but I don't think the official update is out yet, not for the VX6800 at least...hopefully someone here will get their hands on the official version of 6.1 cook it for verizon and we can have all the things out phone desires...well not all...

They say it will be available sometime this summer for some select phones...which means verizon probably will delay it for "testing" and we won't see it for a little while after that...and they will probably try to charge us for it...I've already got 6.1 so i'm not in a rush to get the Official one...

Id probably bet there Verizon will not put out a 6.1 update. They are so bad at being late and missing the bus that the only way you will probably get it is making your own ROM (or using a pre made one) from here. Sprints official release may help in updating the 6800 kitchens though

it's xv i thought..and this seems like a silly thread to me..i shouldnt be posting anything really, don't we already know verizon releases things the latest?? amen for ppcgeeks.com. that is all.
