i use the seidio 3200 battery as i have used them with my older 6700. They make great batteries and are U.S. based. I tried to call Mugen and they are based i think in china and their offical website has everything in euro prices. I only usually buy directly from the manufactor when possible instead of someone off ebay. I would stick with seidio and they now have the offical battery cover protector for the mogul...

Plus seidio also offers a whole range of products for the mogul. Keep in mind if you go with the mugen power then they might not have all the accessories that seidio offers.

I'd stay away from Seidio. Very bad customer service and known to sell bogus batteries. Can't go wrong with Mugen.

I have the Seidio, and so far it's been fantastic. Also hippity.hoppity's the very first person I've heard speak ill of their customer service or quality. My own experience with their customer service was very strong, and I've heard of large numbers of people using the Seidio batteries on their 6700s and being happy with them. I'm sure hippity.hoppity's experience is genuine, but not necessarily accurate for everyone's experience.

The only reason to stay away from Seidio is the customer service.

The batteries are fine, the products are okay, and the customer service and information you get from them is atrocious.

They probably need to hire someone to do customer service, but I think they don't really care about that aspect all that much.

Re: The Seidio 3200MAH Battery or the Mugen 3600MAH Battery

Let me start out by saying, I am sorry that you had a bad experiance with Seidio. However, I have bought many hundreds of dollars (about $400 to $500) worth of things from Seidio including the extended battery for my 6700. I only had one shipping issue and they promptly shipped a replacement and did not even ask for the old one back. The 6700 battery works great. My friend is still using it in his 6700.

I wonder about the quality of the 6800 battery and am not as concerned about the customer service. If it is as good as the 6700 version I will be buying one for my 6800. However, I don't need it so much with my car dock that also came from Seidio and works great (hands free law in Ca).

Thakns,

I am using the Mugen in my 6800. I love it. I used both Mugen and Seidio on my 6700. Loved them. The owner of Seidio likes to do customer service himself. you can often find him in the various site forums posting in the Seido threads and helping people.

they arent the biggest organization. I have had to wait a bit for a response on occassion, but in the end they have always been more than responsive, fair and apologetic.

Hippity is not the first I've seen post this. There are plenty of other foums outside of this one in which complaints run high regarding Seido's customer service.

Personally, I think its pitiful that in order to get a response from a company in which you sent your money too, you have to post on several forums they frequent, and hope they get around to answering you. It doesnt take them that long to charge your VISA, AmEx, Discover....

I just bought a Seidio 3200 battery and am returning it today (box is on my desk). Put the battery in my XV6800 and charged for 8 hours. It would not turn on at all. I took it out and put back in a couple of times, then it worked. In the middle of the night it just turned off and I ended up late for work since I use my phone as my alarm. Again it would not turn on. Put my old battery back in and no problems. Also the battery door fit sucks!

I have the Sedio 3200 mAh, love it hands down. Never had reason to call CS (email inquiries were slooow) but if "Seidioseidio" is around in this forum or another, I'd request (his/her) help, seems to be the best help vs other options.

Getting the Rubber-case + Belt clip BTW (The reason why I didn't go with Mugen) :)

Re: The Seidio 3200MAH Battery or the Mugen 3600MAH Battery

I just got my 3200 battery yesterday. What I found out is that you have to remove the black plastic on the bottom of the battery. This will allow charging (The phone has contacts that needs to be made on the battery case). When I first put the new battery in I got a red LED, After looking at the old battery the new battery has a plastic film covering the back. It needs to be exposed to work properly. I guess there is no mention of this in the install of the new battery by Seidio. I guess that this is on the new battery to stop it from shorting out during shipping. The new 3200 battery has been on the charger since 6 PM last night and it 5:30 AM now it has a green LED. So I hope before you send it back try and remove the black film if thats your problem. If you did I have no answer to your delima. On a new note the plastic belt clip is the same for both cases on the 3200 battery or the stock battery clip with the black plastic cases.

SEIDOSEIDO: please change your instructions to say to remove the protective black film on the new battery before installing the new battery!

Re: The Seidio 3200MAH Battery or the Mugen 3600MAH Battery

I know this is about extended batteries but I would offer an alternative. I have two regular batteries and a cradle that will charge a battery out of the phone as well as the phone. I almost never set the phone in the cradle because I just switch batteries when one gets low. It is incredibly convenient, no big bulge on the back. When I need extra power when travelling or camping, I just throw the extra battery in my pocket. If you like the extended batteries then great, but if you just need to ensure your phone lasts all day, this is a great option.

I just found a 1700 Mah battery that fits the regular slot. That's a like a 35% increase in battery life. Going to try it out and let you all know how it goes. It could be shady, but for only $15 I'm willing to try it out.

Mugen has had an 1800mAh battery for a long time that fits with the stock battery door.

i don't think 8 hour initial charge is long enough for these 3200/3600 mAH batteries. i think 12 hours is officially recommended.

I was just on the Seidio website and the battery for the Mogul now says 3500mah versus 3200mah. Did it actually chagne. does it fit their rubberized case for the 3200 mah battery?

I would use Mugen again because they have an amazing customer support on Facebook. Also I used their 3300mah battery for Nexus S and it was one life savior.
