configuring HTC Quick Launcher
 

forgive me but I just can't seem to figure out how to configure the icons on the HTC Quick Launcher. I've searched the forums to no avail.

I'm sure it's quite simple but..........

No sure how you searched, but I'll tell you how I searched and found many topics that are related to your question:

1. I clicked on the Search button, at the top; between the Chat & FAQ buttons

2. I typed in the words "quick launcher"

I got a ton of hits - browsed some of the threads and found these two relavent postings:

Maybe you could explain how you searched and came up with nothing? Just curious how you tried & couldn't find anything...

thanks for the help - I think I found the same post (can't really remember) but while it refers to editing xml files I couldn't find which ones I'm suppose to edit.

I'll keep trying.

the two xml files you wanna edit are- "ql_skin_p"(portrait) and "ql_skin_l"(landscape) (located in the "windows" view in file explorer)

i used notepad on my laptop to edit them. Its as simple as replacing the default paths with the paths to the programs that you want to launch.

Make sure you save once your finished, copy them back to your phone, then copy them to the windows folder, it will ask you do you want to overwrite the existing files, say yes...and soft reset. Once it comes back up *if* your paths are correct in the xml files, then your icons should work
