Works faster the way it came set by default.

Re: Rev. A

Your poll results will be meaningless due to the confusing labeling system chosen by HTC and your unclear poll choices. For example, "You Have Enabled Rev. A and It Works Better" could be interpreted as "You changed the EPST setting to display 'Enable'", or alternatively "You have read and understood the posts that explain that when the EPST displays 'Disable' your Rev. A is enabled, and that is your current setting". Since your other choice is "You Left Rev. A Disabled and It Works Better", it appears that you have not read and understood those posts, as if you "leave it" it will be enabled.

Regardless of the results of your poll, Rev. A is enabled when the EPST displays "Disable". This setting is confusing, but was never designed to be accessed by the user, and the ROM ships with Rev. A enabled. There is no need to change it from the default nor to vote in this poll.

Rev. A is enabled by default in the new ROM. I tested extensively last night. It is listed as "Disable" in the EPST settings. DO NOT CHANGE YOUR EPST SETTINGS IF YOU WANT TO KEEP REV. A ACTIVE.

umm- if this is the case, somethin is seriously screwed up-

even in fringe areas, i still pull at least 400k-500k. In 4 to 5 bar areas i get upwards of 1200-1300k.

1x maxes out at 144k or somin like that.

Yea you must feel real smart. Look around the forum for yourself to see how many people get better speed with REV. A Enable.

teathered with it disabled (left it the way the ROM put it)

Your current bandwidth reading is:

821.80kbps - mobilespeedtest.com teathered - so i guess its working

caddieguy02 03-12-2008 12:27 PM

Re: Rev. A

well the results and opinions on the matter are way to inconsistant for me to listen to anyone,...no offense...i think the only way to be fair is for everyone to do their own speed test and decide for themselves if it should be enabled or disabled....my results are below for those interested...and as for me im leaving mine enabled...

disabled 645.3 kbps
enabled 932.1 kbps

and i conducted my tests at www.mobilespeedtest.com
also i live in indianapolis, indiana if that matters...

Disabled: 1.37 Mbps x1
1.37 Mbps x2
Enabled: 1.37 Mbps x1
1.37 Mbps x2

Make sure your GPS settings are correct in the app your trying to use (ie: Google maps,Livesearch).

It's the upload that's affected not the download. And mobile speed test sites aren't too accurate. You should tether and run a real speedtest to tell.

i dont know how to do this...but enable or disabled i see a huge speed increase in my area...enabled is just lightening quick...im happy with it as it is...but if i can make it better i will haha

Re: Rev. A

tested too many times with PIE in Orlando
645.6kbps enable
838.9kbps disable
??????

mr.mindbender 03-13-2008 11:05 AM

Re: Rev. A

but then again i keep getting different readings enabled and disabled..just thought i would throw that in

meatlocker 03-13-2008 07:17 PM

Re: Rev. A

Not much difference for me "enabled" or "disabled". I live on the central Atlantic coast of Florida, 90 miles south of Orlando, so I am pretty sure that I am in what is considered a "remote" area. I hope that someday EVDO Rev.x will really make a difference in locations like mine. This is tethered through Bluetooth to a Mac, so not terrible speed overall.

Re: Rev. A

it was optimized to work properly in the 'disabled' or (stock) setting... leave it alone, and your speed will be faster and your GPS will work....some things just arent meant to be tweaked!!!! (cant believe i just said that...)

Re: Rev. A

I had a conference call today and they told us that the disabled setting is really enabled. It was a simple syntax error in the ROM. So disabled = enabled and enabled = disabled. Long story short. LEAVE THE SETTING DISABLED!!!! :P
