SMS Problems!

Ok guys, so I came across the threaded SMS app a while back, followed the instructions which required me to delete a poutlook file or something of the sorts only to later realize I didn't need to delete that file but everything worked fine for a while.

But now, everytime I send a text message in a conversation, it sends the last message from every conversation I have saved in my text messages back to the person in that convo.

What would be the disadvantages of doing a HARD reset, setting my phone back up to factory, and starting from scratch? Would I have to re do all my contacts or would they be fine since they are in my outlook (via activesync).

Also just wanted to note that when I first had my phone I had to spend hours calling CS to get someone that could help me tweak some setting to get my sprint pcs connection and internet browsing working. Do you think I would have to go through this again, because If I didnt I really wouldnt have a problem with the hard reset.

A hard reset would delete all your contacts off the device. As long as you still had them in outlook you can resync through activesync and have all of them back.

Would it affect my internet browsing or are we just not sure yet? I could make calls and text etc right after a hard reset right? I wouldn't have to reprogram my phone would I?

i would make a backup with that free PIMbackup app. always save a copy in the storage card it backs up everything and places it back with no problem, i dont se why you would have to call cs to get internet running again, what was the actual problem?

You should be able to get your contacts back through activesync if they are synced with outlook,,,

I had the same exact proble with the threaded messaging proggie... hacked me off bad,

I had to delete a conversation everytime I got done,, or else if i replied to my wife at ten at night,, 15 other people recieved trivial messages that were sent to them earlier that day...

midi, did you find a workaround, because I love the app, but just not having to delete all my conversations. Thanks man.

If you are not using a 6.1 ROM, the go to \Windows\PalmMSGV001and back up that file.

Thanks guys.

Midi, get back to me if you found a workaround for the threaded SMS, because I would like to avoid a hard reset if possible. Did you have to get rid of the threaded sms altogether or what?
