1x question...
So, if I'm able to send/receive SMS while making a phone call, is there a way I can use 1x for data while on a phone call? For those who have not tried to do that (I'm sure some of you have), it says to end the current phone call and try again, because it's trying to use EVDO for data. I'm sure there is a way to do this, but that would be "disabled EVDO/enabling 1x" ONLY. I would like to keep EVDO on when not using phone/SMS, and keep 1x on (obviously while on a phone call) for sms/data. I hope this made sense LOL. Any input guys?

Re: 1x question...
This is something that is possibly in our future, it has been speculated that the new Rav-A is capable of doing this but I haven't read anything on this for a while. Wish I could remember where I read about this before I would link you. Maybe someone else can add more. By the way you can talk on the phone and surf on wifi at the same time.

Re: 1x question...
I have also caught data (gmap/mslivesearch) killing a phone call, 2.17rom, still waiting for the next.

Re: 1x question...
I've never had data services kill a phone call. And I do recall reading about Rev. A being capable of simultaneous data/voice on using EVDO only; if I recall correctly, it's something that is optional to the carrier because of the technology required to do so. I know WiFi can be used while on a 1x call, but sometimes WiFi isn't always available! At least I can do this while at school when I text the most! I cram in as much multi-tasking as I can during my 2 30 mins breaks!

Re: 1x question...
It was while driving and in IA it's hard to tell if it just dropped or not, exept with the mogul I've noticed I get a notification that my phone dropped a call. that time i did not..
(wish it would save somewhere so i could email my dropped call list for the credits, I redial the call i was on, not *2.) |
Re: 1x question...
1x is 3g and 3g promised voice and data.

Re: 1x question...
1x is Rev. 0, Rev. A is voice/data capable. I'm no expert, but from what I read and what was previously stated in this thread, Rev. A is capable of that only if the carrier has upgraded their hardware to do so.
