Vista tethering weird question...
Yo guys, weird question...
As some of u may know I have problems tethering my mogul to my new vista notebook. Something in my computer is disconnecting my connection after about 1-5 minutes of tethering. I tried my phone on my buddies vista notebook and it worked fine. My question is, Vista sees the mogul as a LAN cable. I know this is normal once internet sharing is turned on, but is there a way to trick the computer into thinking its maybe, a WAN OR WWAN device.? Ive checked firewalls and all that nonsense, but im thinking if i can make my notebook think this is a different type of connection, then maybe I can get it to work, kinda far-fetched, but i cant figure this out for the life of me. |
Re: Vista tethering weird question...
good question, but any PC or notebook would [usually] detect the device as a "GENERIC RNDIS" instead of a LAN cable that i know of...

Re: Vista tethering weird question...
dude i just picked up a copy of wmwifirouter. this works flawlessly. Im not even gonna worry about the problem i was having anymore. I installed it and it turned my mogul into an ad-hoc access point, so now im surfing the web over wifi thru my evdo connection!!!!!!!!!
