Using WiFi switch as silence button

My wife just switched from her Treo 755 to my old Mogul. She likes the phone so far but misses the hardwired silence switch (best idea anyone has had for a cellphone IMO). I was wondering if there was a registry edit or maybe a program I could get that would let me change the WiFi button to a profile switch button? Is this even possible? Thanks in advance.

I would be quite interested in this as well. One of my most missed features going from the treo to the mogul.

Make sure she has threaded SMS too...that was the only other thing I couldnt live without ;-)

I flashed her up to one of the new 6.1 roms for that very reason. So far she digs WM, just misses that silence switch.

To the best of my knowledge, the wi-fi is not changeable by software while in the off position. When it is on, you can use software to turn wi-fi on or off. However, in the off position, you cannot use software to turn the wi-fi back on.

If it is possible, I would say that no2chem would be the best candidate to figure it out.

I believe the wifi switch is physically wired for wifi, but it may be possible to piggyback on the status signal sent to the OS (on/off) to change the volume. However wifi on all the time would kill a battery, so stroths input would help with this.
