'Could use a lil' help w/ TCPMP &/or CorePlayer video playback...
Hey, Everyone,
I could use a lil' help w/ TCPMP and Coreplayer video playback. The video runs and looks good, but the audio is noticeably out of sync. It does sound good, however. I've got it rendering w/ Raw Framebuffer on both, videos are converted to 340x280 @ near original (high) quality w/ Pocket DVD Studio v4.0, and my "Buffering" prefs are as follows: CorePlayer v1.1.1 build 1600 Normal buffer size: 2400kB Preload at underrun: 70% Preload for audio: 64kB TCPMP v0.72RC1 (w/ Flash Video bundle v1.4.4) Normal buffer size: 1184kB Preload at underrun: 3% Preload for audio: 64kB These are pretty much the defaults, but before I'd start foolin' around w/ stuff here, I thought I'd get some input from those who have up-to-par video playback. 'Not too familiar w/ media players, codecs, buffering, etc. Thanks, Everyone, w/ the advent of GPS and RevA, this problem's been the only thing stopping my tele' from being a beast...A BEAST!!! :P |
I have the exact TCPMP & Videobundle that you have and at stock settings my video/sound playback is great. I do not use these (2) in conjunction with anything else however...
Have you tried starting from default settings? It seems that everyone will find a particular nitch and only personal settings suffice; the variables for ideal playback vary by current running programs (if applicable), processor speed, TCPMP settings, video type, site, device settings, etc... I know this commentary does not place a firm resolution into your hands but understand that while it is possible to find generic settings that accomodate about 70% of the population, the other 30% may have a tedious time dialing in their settings in for ideal playback. I leave mine at default and it seems to surprisingly play well at these settings... |
if its just your audio and video are off sync, check under advance settings. there is a parameter there to off set them by ms. i run mine at -35 which is almost spot on.

Do you have the Out Of Sync problem with other video's other than the ones you made? The reason I ask is because most Video formats have/use the "key" or "Index" options. This should sync the Audio and Video together automatically. A common use of this is to sync every 15-30 seconds.
What video Format are you encoding in? Check the options and see if there is anything like what I mentioned. On another note: http://www.aximsite.com/boards/multi...-out-sync.html These guys and Google says that Pocket DVD Studio seems to have this particular problem. Infact in the thread above the one guy switched to FairUse Later, phaZed |
Re: 'Could use a lil' help w/ TCPMP &/or CorePlayer video playback...
I'd converted them to .avi using the Divx v6.22 codec. BTW, scoobdude's suggestions worked wonders w/ "Manual A/V offset +/-" @ 27 msec. Not purrfect, but damn close. What does everyone else use to convert vids to 320x240? I'd rather everything ran great w/o having to change advanced settings.

Hey, any ETA on that S/W fix from HTC? They's said sometime this month, right?
