Recommendation Please.... How to get Pictures & Movies to shrink to QVGA/TitanSize?

Seems like an oxymoron, trying to get things to shrink to a smaller Titan size...
I was just curious if anyone has recommendations on a converter that will take large movie files and shrink the file size down to something a little more appropriate for this phone. Maybe convert pictures as well, but not as relevant.

There are a bunch of progs out there to convert video formats to smaller size. Not sure how fast they are or how good they work but they are probably pretty decent. I use windows movie maker. Just import the video, drop it to the timeline, and save as movie file. It gives you different size options, one of which is pocket pc with a 320 x 240. Works fine for me.

For converting pictures, there is a very nice tool by microsoft. You can find it here: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/d...powertoys.mspx

For videos, I use a program called DeskShare Digital Media Converter. It is very nice because it has a PPC profile with the screen size, FPS, and bitrate.

Handbrake is the bomb.

Excellent, thank you for these recommendations...

I'm going to use the Microsoft MovieMaker for a bit then try the others if needed.
Oddly enough, the MovieMaker software has the worst review I think I've ever seen, yet still has nearly 4 million downloads on that same review page:

I've used it before for other things without a problem, so I'll see if it works well for this conversion.

SPB Pocket DVD is a good program.

There is a thread here devoted entirely to creating video for the Titan/QVGA screen with step-by-step and links to free programs

Search, Search, then ask

hey itsall shut up with the search crap. It's people like you that kill web forums. Just about every question imaginable has been answered somewhere...and without questions here then only idle chatter will ensue until nothing else remains.
If you don't like a question for whatever reason then it would serve you well to just ignore it.

Its Raging Idiots who kill forums with stupid requests for help that are nothing but PURE LAZINESS, so why don't YOU take your own advice and shut up, and use the search feature like we all do...do you think everyone else just knows alll this stuff? NO, they went and searched it for you, you lazy bum... you have time to post that crapola above but no time to search? get real dude

Raging Idiot 02-11-2008 02:02 AM

blah blah blah,
didn't mean to inflame your ego,
but - my truth is greater than your truth. haha
Not all search queries come up with perfect results. It's a judgement call on how long to search is too long and sometimes the answer is right there but through skimming it is entirely missed.
