What home plugin do you use???

I'm curious to see what plugin the Titan geeks use for their home screen?

I've been using HTC Home which is cool but it seems kinda laggy and not very much customization of the main screen and the weather never seems to download right... I think I'm going to play around with some others but I was wondering what majority rules for typical titan users.

Comments welcome... mostly just a curiosity thing! :)

Lsme420 02-08-2008 11:56 AM

HTC 6 tab........

InvincibleLiving 02-08-2008 01:01 PM

Htc 6 tab
Spb Diary
Pocket Sportscenter (running in carrier line of HTC)
and dciNoBar to remove the bottom softkeys from the screen
I'll post a screencap in a bit

Zenoran 02-08-2008 02:01 PM

seems like most people are using HTC Home!

is def the coolest looking... and free is always good too... just some things im missing I think???? maybe it's user ignorance

i.e. is there a way to define custom profiles? what exactly does automatic do?

music tab is pointless... cool idea but dont like the player...

wish there was a way to add other custom groupings kinda like the programs tab but have other tabs in addition to that one... not possible enh?

also the smart scroll thing on spb pocket plus is REALLY cool... wish there was some way to add JUST that without installing the whole app.

gakkun 02-08-2008 02:03 PM

I just started using PointUI yesterday.

I really like it so far. Prior to that I just used the standard WM Today screen so I think I'll go back and try some of the others listed in this thread though.

Alpine- 02-08-2008 02:07 PM

SPB PocketPlus > *

I also use SPB Diary and Phone Suite.

Just use FTouchFlo and you can touch scroll in all programs. Works great.

Here's mine:

HTC Home Customize
SPB Diary
Resco Today

Zenoran 02-08-2008 02:59 PM

thanks for recommending FTouchFlo I will check that out... I thought that was integrated with the cube thing which I did not like... bogged the titan down too much resource wise...

also to note... QUICKMENU is prob one of the COOLEST and most useful apps ive installed on this thing... if u haven't checked it out I highly recommend it. :)

how did you get the sportscenter in the carrier line? it scrolls through normally? very cool.

It took me a while to get it working, but when you go into the settings you go to:

Setup Options > Use/ Dont use today plugin

What you want to see is a popup that says "Today plugin inactive, using carrier line" (See the screencap)

as far as how it performs in the carrier line, it works just as expected, in fact i think it works better there but that could just be my device.

best of luck

SPB pocket Plus w/ HTC Home plug-in on its own tab for photo dialing and Phat Fingers Weather Panel on its own tab. Im sorry but HTC Home cant touch Pocket Plus.

98classic 02-10-2008 11:34 PM

htc home from the duo. was never able to find a big clock on an other one and it has all te msg and call counters in the front. good enough for me, using 5 tabs, the music one is useless.

jbbosu 02-10-2008 11:36 PM

Hands down HTC customizer...I'm using 5-tab and it's perfect.

Gotta love it being free and not leaving a huge footprint.

For now I use the venerable HTC Home & Customizer with custom tabs, clock fonts & Audio Player buttons...

I had the theme posted below but with the advent of GPS & newer rom abilities which require a little more juice, I made the necessary sacrifices...

The files I used to create this are included below:

Background - Clear
Clock - Pradaclock
Icons - Pradacon

HTC HomePlug, of course and SBSH PocketBreeze, which I've been using for about 5 years or so through 4 or 5 PDA's.

I like the neat, clean look.

Re: What home plugin do you use???

I've been using Mobile Shell recently and do like it for simplicity and functionality... I do, however, like HTC Home a lot better as far as appearance but it seems REALLY laggy when going between apps... like if you're on home screen and pop into a text message from a notification doesn't it seem really slow for u guys???

InvincibleLiving 02-25-2008 08:37 PM

Re: What home plugin do you use???

depends on what other resources you have running in addition to it... i have 4 today screen apps that run in tandem: htc home, pocketsportcenter, ultimatesearch, and spb diary. yes my performance takes a marginal hit, but it doesnt drag or crawl imo. it's still snappy and responsive for me.

slowness vs. speed is really subjective to the user...

Re: What home plugin do you use???

I'm running HTC Home 6-Tab. I need help though with it though. When I click on the Email button it opens the Messeging Window where you Select an Account, under which is Text Messages, My POP3 account, and New E-mail Account. How do I the Email button directly open up my POP3 email account? When I click the Text Messages button on the HTC Home Plugin, it goes directly into the Inbox of my Text Messages. So how can I have the Email button go directly to my POP3 Email Inbox? Thanks

I redesigned the "Original" clock font into the one above. I created the
icons from the Prada set and deleted all of the bars & highlight tabs in the "Transparent" background for a complete black background without clutter...

Re: What home plugin do you use???

HTC Home with customizer
SPB Pocket Plus
Weather Panel w/ PhatPhinger

I use UltimateLaunch to rotate those 3 plug-ins with thumbs.

Pocket Plus, Mobile Shell, Suite, and HTC Home

Zenoran 02-26-2008 09:10 PM

Re: What home plugin do you use???

I've been struggling with this whole memory leak problem and it seems today plugins are the main culprit.... I'm going kinda plain now but performance is very snappy how I like it and 20mb free at all times.

Standard today (time, lock, messaging, tasks)
Weatherpanel (seems nice and solid memory-wise)

Add Quickmenu in there for quick navigation and I think I'm good to go... no more memory problems at least... SBP Mobile shell was cool but it did have overheard and I found myself using Quickmenu most of the time anyways so I'm just training myself to use quickmenu for everything now.

cLauncher (gives me two rows of 5 icons 32 X 32 pixels), SPB weather app, Pdaphone and Calendar plus. All the rest is handled through DoubleLauncher and multiple key assignments.

I am using PointUI black. It's not an Iphone interface but I still get the oooo's and aaahhhh's when i show people this.

The only complaint is that it will freeze up for a couple seconds randomly. Other then that it is fricken cool. :headbang:
