How do I turn off my Mogul

My phone will not turn off. I press and hold the power key, I get the message asking if I want to power off, I select yes, and the phone goes into standby mode.

I had installed QuickMenu, so I thought this was the culprit, but the problem remains after I removed QM.

Any ideas? Thanks.

Remove the battery, let it sit for 5-10 mins, re-insert the battery, turn it back on, and try to power-down as you normally would. Lets see if that works for you.

Well, removing the battery after it goes into standby will certainly turn the phone off, but I'm certain that's not the answer you're looking for...

I presume you can tell it doesn't turn off because there's no soft reset when you press the power key again? How odd.

I can tell it doesn't turn off because the coverage LED continues to blink, and if I hit the power button again it brings me back to the today screen...no boot up is needed.

I'll do the above suggestion anyway, worst case all I am is out 5-10 minutes of phone service

Holy crap, it worked! My phone now powers off normally! I think this is the first documented incident where a battery pull actually fixed something! :)

Thank you!!

Why do you need to shut down your phone anyway? :P

You do not need to completely power it down on a airplane; going into Flight Mode is sufficient.
