Where do you put your custom message ringers?

On your 6800, where do you store the ringer files that you use for messages? Just in \My Documents? Or do you put them in the windows directory? Or on the SD card? I'd appreciate answers cuz I think it's causing some problems on mine..

If you want to use MP3 files for SMS/e-mail notifications, then you need to drop them in the \Windows directory.

Interesting.. mine will let me select them if I put them in the \My Documents directory.. but I'm thinking that may be what is causing my problems with it not playing sounds or vibrating to notify of messages.

Are they MP3s or WMAs? WMAs may work from another directory, but MP3s need to be in the \Windows directory in order to be used with e-mail and SMS notifications AFAIK.

Definitely .MP3's.. I think that has been my problem though, for some reason when the phone tries to access the mp3 from the \My Documents folder it messes something up..

When I keep a stock ringer set for my SMS/Email I don't have problems with no notification sound/vibrate. When I set it to a custom MP3 that's in the \My Documents directory, it seems I have problems.

Right now I have moved a custom MP3 sound to the \Windows directory and set it to Email/SMS and have been writing everyone I know and it's been a couple hours and still going with no problems... so I think this may have been the problem.

Sorry for my ramblings that probably didn't make sense... one of those things I guess I had to "say" out loud to understand myself?
