Gps help with tomtom
Hey,
My friend who has a tilt says a mogul won't do actual gps without a data connection. Tomtom 6 works on his but it doesn't get a valid gps signal on mine. I have tomtom set at other gps com 4 4800, and on the gps compass it finds satellites, it just doesn't find a signal from them or whatever Is anyone else having this problem? |

If you are using the Internal GPS then TomTom does not load the windows intermediate GPS driver (while Google Maps and Live Maps do). The solution to this is to either launch one and leave it open (then launch TomTom) or to use one of the loaders (which work quite well). For TomTom - Other NMEA GPS Receiver - 9600 Baud - Com 4 This works quite well for me - although it will sometimes take a minute or two to initially get a GPS lock. |
your friend is a retard;)
you need an app to "kick start" your gps. I use tomtom and MIO by the way. download this: http://www.hevis.com.hk/download/GpsViewer1.5.zip set it to com 4 then click open GPS it will find satellites in a little bit then open up TOMTOM and you are good to go. this thread will help you more. READ IT! In the 2nd post in that thread there is a program that jump starts the GPS and starts TOMTOM at the same time. http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=17032 |
