Yahoo Mail - IMAP

Didn't see this posted here, so here's a contribution I hope helps ya (since I get so much help in this forum). I almost paid for Yahoo Plus (not expensive really) to POP my mail to the Mogul, but my wife (HTC Touch) gets mail for free. So drilling down to the email setup, you too can IMAP to Yahoo for fwee:

Incoming: imap.mail.yahoo.com
Outgoing: smtp.mobile.mail.yahoo.com

Other than it costs nothing at the moment, there are two distinct advantages for using IMAP that I prefer:

- A message that has been "Read", stays "Read." My Gmail POP continues to deliver "New" mail to me, even though I read it already.

I didn't even have to enter in any settings. Actually, there wasn't even a place where I could enter my settings. wm 6.1 just found the yahoo settings and the auto entered them in. So nobody has to pay for the mail services this way? I just dont want to end up getting charged somehow.

I checked my settings after my acct was setup and they gave me the same addresses that the OP posted. Crazy, I just set up a friend's email service on his phone b/c he just bought yahoo plus. THANKS Witness X

Heh - that sucks for your friend. Yeah, no charges will apply other than internet access.
