I keep hearing about how windows live has maps and voice recognition. Can anyone tell me how to get this going? I think i have it installed, but the only thing i can figure out how to do is type into the today screen search bar and it opens IE with the search results.

how can i get the tool bar for windows love on my today screen?

I tried going there a few times today and keep getting a server error, does anyone have a cab ?

eyecannon is right, MS made things confusing for us. Windows Live (that appears as a today screen plug-in) is simply a search engine that takes you to a web browser window -- like a google or yahoo search.

The Live Search application is the mapping function. The latest version contains speech recognition, great business/restaurant search, local movies, and best of all local gas prices. IMO it blows google maps out of the water.

Tried it again and i got the file to dl, gps locks on so much faster than google.

Interesting that you say it locks on easier because I have had the opposite experience. In fact when I run WLS it will load for a good 2 minutes and then tell me it couldn't get a gps location. If I open Google Maps after that it locks on instantly and then when I go back to WLS it suddenly reads the gps. Very strange.

WLS pwns GM in so many ways, i cant go back to google now. it's just so limited in comparison... i just wish windows would go the extra mile and add voice prompts to directions ect. then it would be a killer app...
