After DCD 2.0 flash no *228 or internet

My original rom did not have an AKey and works just fine. I installed DCDs Beta 2.0 rom with the new Radio. The install went ok, but when I try to do the *228 it tells me the feature code is not available. When I try to make a local call it tells me to enter the area code and when I do calls work. When I try to use Internet I get a PPP error.

If I downgrade back to the Verizon stock rom phone calls work, *228 works, etc.

I would like to get the new ROM & Radio working. Am I missing something?

try *228, and you do need an a-key, trust me.
If you cant get it working, load it up with stock and take it to vzw.

When I put the stock rom back on I can use *228 and updates successfully and phone calls work without a hitch. But when I check PST, the AKEY is empty. Why would that be?

i think mine was the same. you need to call #8899 and get an akey. just say thats all you need. but i was able to call *228 before i got an akey. I havent had your problem before, so i dont know whats causing it. did you try *22899?

For doing some updates on VZW's network. I think it gets an updated list of towers or something like that.

Ok I called Verizon and got an Akey. I flashed to the DCD Beta 2.0 with the new Radio. I still get the same message "the feature code you entered is not valid". So I entered the AKEY and still get the same message. I also took pictures of all of the settings in the EPST and entered them the same and still getting the same. If I try the internet I get error code 11 (ppp connection error).

The funny thing is I can receive calls and make calls if I include the area code....

Any have more ideas please?

"The feature code you've entered is not valid" is a message you get when you dial *228 on Sprint. You are apparently accessing Sprint, not Verizon. I do not know what you need to do to put your phone back on Verizon.

You might get better results if your thread title said that you were on the DCD ROM, not 3.16, which is the Sprint test ROM.

That's what I was thinking. I did make sure to download the Verizon Rom. I also called *611 and it went to verzion. *86 goes to my voice mail.

Would manually updating the PRL help?

According to this post I just found (search is your friend) ##786 might help. The PRL update will probably not help, but you can give it a try.

You said that in the Verizon ROM phone calls work but you get invalid user name on Internet access. You did enter the Verizon user name and password?

##786 doesn't do anything. Believe me, I have used the search bar and searched many threads and haven't found a solution that works for me.
When I am on the DCD 2.0 rom I do not get the invalid user name and password, just on the Stock rom. With the DCD rom I get error code 11 (ppp connection error)

Doesn't do anything, or what it does doesn't have a positive effect?

OK, when using the stock Verizon ROM, did you enter the required user name and password, and it still said invalid?

The phone tries to dial it and says the number or code you have dialed is incorrect. Is it supposed to open a program on the phone?

In that case try ##786# and do not hit dial

Actually I tried that earlier and it works with the user name and password when on the Stock Rom.

Nothing happens. If it's supposed to open something I can browse to the windows directory and manually open it.

There is supposed to be a way to run it as a parameter of EPST but if it does not work this way it probably won't that way either.

You need someone with more knowledge of DCD's ROM, or flash back to stock and run with that.

Sorry, exhausted my ideas.

Thank you for your help. I may go back to the Stock Rom until there's a new release or if someone else might have some more ideas.

Would originally installing the new "unofficial" Sprint rom have anything to do with my problem? I did flash back to the Verizon Stock rom before trying DCDs 2.0 beta.

I don't have the verizon version, but I do know that sprints customizations allow us to get prl updates and access ## codes. It shouldn't be to difficult to carry verizon's customizations over to the new sprint rom. The only problem is that the config file to change the auto run at initial launch hasn't been accessible in the past few roms. I can help with brining everything from the verizon rom over, but the autorun won't install your files without me being able to edit the config.txt file. Someone should here should find a way to open the ext_rom to allow access to it. I'm almost certain that's where the file is. That's where I would begin. I'll continue check this thread to see if I can be of any help.
