I had a bad phone that prevented me from updating my rom. It kept freezing after a few minutes and I think it was the cpu getting hot. If there's a problem with your hardware than you not going to get nowhere.

Also, you can do a hard reset if your stuck at the sprint logo screen by holding the 2 white dot buttons on the front of the phone at the same time as the power on button.

Thanks for the info Mac4Lyfe. Even when I hard reset same thing, freeze up at first splash image. Now, since restoring my Mogul, I have tried up-dating to different Roms with no luck. But, the one Rom that I can do is the Sprint one. Funny. I reboot computer start fresh and no luck with any other Roms. I even tried re-downloading many of the Roms and same thing..... i'm not giving up though, I will figure this out. Ain't no way I'm going to be running no stock Rom... just not like me!

Yes, I am back off to get the dcd Rom on it. will update!

That's normal. All rom loads take place in bootloader mode, and Activesync doesn't work when you're in bootloader mode. Even if you start with an Activesync connection, the RUU will put your phone in bootloader mode before the load starts.

If you continue to have problems w/ dcd's rom, try someone elses.

Funny thing I have tried dcd's Rom(s) (old ones even) and other Roms (from PPCGeeks FTP Site) with the RUU Utility or exe and same darn thing. They start to update to anywhere from 4-16% and loose connection. But, when I run that Sprint one to "recover" it works perfect. I'm thinking this darn phone is hardwired somehow to only like Sprint OFFICIAL Roms. I had my 6700 and updated Roms on that thing left and right with no problems ever. Now this. Just horrible I say, but will not give up! Will keep those of you who are intrerested posted on my status of upgrading to a better ROM!!!
