What is purpose of Titan's odd-shaped USB port?
I was just upgraded from a 6700 to the 6800 and was told that my old accessories would work on the new phone. Yeah right!
I went back and got the USB cables that come with the 6800 but wonder what the deal is with the odd-shaped mini-USB port as I can still charge my phone with my standard mini-USB chargers? I see that they moved the audio connector from the phone to one of the USB cables. Am I damaging my 6800 by using my old USB calbes? Thanks. |
extra pins for audio.
No it's made to accept the old usb cables as well. |

Yep I was freaking as well but all my 6700 usb stuff is working fine. The fit sometimes seems a wee bit loose, but it seems to work.

Verizon wanted you to buy some new accessories. $$$$$

shhh..... No. all old stuff will work. well except the battery and stylus.
that sux as I had 2 backups of each for the 6700. Now I don't. |
I ordered a extra house charger for my work from Verizon (35% off with GE Discount), and it came with the ExtUSB plug end. The charger that came with the phone has the miniUSB plug end.

More than anything, it's a way for Sprint/HTC/Verizon whomever to make a nice chunk of change off accessories. Proprietary hardware. Forces you to buy outrageously overpriced cables from them.

My Titan from Sprint came with a miniUSB charger as well. And how is extusb proprietary?
