Can I overcharge the Mogul? Possible to turn screen off while plugged in?

I charge the phone through a docking cradle that I picked up from ebay and I have two questions:

1. Once the phone is fully charged and still connected to the USB cradle, does it continue to charge? Is this bad?

2. Is there any way to turn the screen off automatically while being connected to the USB cable? Much like how the screen just timeouts with no use.

No, and No.

1. The phone has a chip that regulates power and when it knows its full, it goes into trickle mode.

2. Should be a setting to change when the phone is plugged into external power.

no, and yes?

Yeah the screen and backlight timeout for AC is right under the timeout for battery. When it's connected to a PC + activesync it really likes to keep itself on. You can run any of several 3rd party apps to turn off the screen, that works pretty well.
