Data/WiFi conflict with ActiveSync?

For some reason, whenever my phone is connected via ActiveSync, I cannot make a data connection to the Sprint network, nor can I make a WiFi connection to my router. If I turn on the WiFi switch, the phone briefly activates WiFi, then turns it back off within seconds. If I have an active data connection and I then connect to ActiveSync (by plugging the USB into my computer), the data connection is immediately dropped.

Did Sprint change something in the last ROM update to make this happen? I know that this used to work. Has anyone else encountered this? Anyone know how to fix it?

Here's something to check with ActiveSync that might have been missed after you upgraded your phone and re-synced it.

Open ActiveSync, then click on File->Connection Settings...

Is "Allow wireless connection on device when connected to the desktop" checked?

I don't remember ever noticing that checkbox before. It was not checked, so perhaps that will solve the problem. But I've never changed it before, so I still wonder if Sprint made some firmware change - perhaps they fixed it so that the phone now honors that setting.

In any event, it seems to have solved the problem. Thank you!

OK, I must be an idiot, but when I open ActiveSync, I don't even have an option/menu called 'File'
