About idle data connections...
'Hope someone can help. I understand the data connection will disconnect after some time based on the values in HKLM/Comm/ConnMgr/Planner/Settings, but I'd like all of my connections to require manual disconnect (in case I d/l overnight, or am just not "actively" using the connection). However, I don't want a data connection to be on ALWAYS, as in the reg hack given on the Registry Hacks page. Any solutions?

I personally keep my connection active all the time. I don't notice an increase in battery usage as I'm usually in coverage, and it makes everything all zippy and fast when I go to use the internet.

Hmm, really? But, do you know of a way to disable the timeout?
|
I guess what I'm tryin' to ask is...
Is there a way to disable data connection timeouts via a reg hack? I know there's the "GPRS Always On" hack, but I don't need the connection to stay on all of the time. I'd like to be able to manually connect and disconnect, and from what I understand, that hack nullifies the Data disconnect hack (DWORD - Flags2 (16)). I have GPRS Keep Alive, but that prog pings in intervals to keep the connection alive, I'd like to just disable the timeout all together.
