Theres an internet speed tweak somewhere on this site, just search in the Titan forum for the .cab files. I didn't download it (didn't think it was necessary at the time) but I know it's there somewhere. If you find it let us know I can try it to see if it works, for me at least.

I'm interested in this too...

http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showpost.p...5&postcount=14 Found little info on how it hacks the speed. I have found most internet speeed hacks to be BS on the home pc so I dont have much faith in it but it could prove me wrong.

1128 down, 78 up.

Speedhack file edits these registry entries. I don't know original values.

characteristic type="Registry"
characteristic type="HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main"
parm name="MaxRequestThreads" value="48" datatype="integer"
parm name="MaxConnectionsPerServer" value="48" datatype="integer"

208 down and 79 up according to the Speakeasy site. This is running through PIE at my girlfriend's house in DC on the DC server. Not great speeds but I will test again when I get home tomorrow.

I don't have that entries, should I create them? If so, how?

sorry I posted the following in the wrong forum. still haven't tested it myself, I want to do before and after speed tests close together to avoid variance due to network traffic.
here's what I misplaced:

I found the speed hack, it was linked to on the very first post in the .cab forum. I'll try it myself tonight but here's the adress; http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showpost.p...5&postcount=14

1003 and 92 is what i got off speakeasy very nice

Test results

I ran some tests to see if this hack works, heres what I found.

First off I have no idea what I am doing so please don't berate me for improper protocol.

I ran 24 tests on speakeasy using Chicago, New York and Seatle(that's 4 times before and 4 times after for those of you keeping score at home).
I varied my approach to installation and removal including powering down the phone(or not) and even removing the hack with an active connection.
I tried to rush and did all of these tests in under 1 hour(6:50-7:30pmCST), in hopes that internet traffic wouldn't fluctuate enough to throw off the results.(Maybe it still did, like I said what do I know.)

Results;

Avg. before hack: 1453.6kbps down & 91.3kbps up

Avg. after hack: 1573.3kbps down & 106.5kbps up

Verdict? Well it seems to work for me but this is all using it as a modem and I don't know if that makes any difference whatsoever. I've tried speakeasy through my phone and it crashes internet explorer every time it gets to the upload part.
Give it a shot, whats the worst that could happen?
I mean my phone hasn't caught fire or anything yet, so it must be all good right?
