Forcing PPC into 1xrtt mode?

Is there a way to force the Mogul so it uses 1xrtt instead of EVDO? I know WM6 for the Apache has an option under Phone - Services - Mode of Operation that allows you to do that, but looks like the Mogul doesn't have Mode of Operation.

i donno if this works but if you hit ##3836# from the dial pad it may ask you what you want to use.

Check under the HKLM\SOFTWARE\OEM\PhoneSetting key and you'll find the value for HiddenModeOperation toggle it from 0 to 1 or vice versa then soft reset the phone.

Can I ask why you'd opt out of EVDO services?

I'm running DCD's 1.6.7 clean ROM, and it has the Mode of Operation menu item. However, I did not check while running any of the stock Sprint ROMs.

no, stock roms dont have it, but if u follow that path in your registry, u can turn it on.

u would want to turn it on in my situation. my nearest EVDO tower i get 0-2 bars, but my nearest 1X tower, i get 3-4 bars, so i have better signal, and less chance to miss calls/texts.

I'm in a similar situation myself, I get about 2 bars 1X and no bars EV, when I talked to a tech, he said I was about 4 1/2 miles from the tower, which equated to poor EV coverage. If there wasn't a hill in between me and it, that wouldn't be bad, so if there was a way other than going through the registry that would be great; but where I work has great EV coverage so I doubt I'll be going that route. :(
