Registry tweak for remapping hardware buttons on xv6800
First time poster here. I must say this is a great forum with a wealth of very useful information. I'd like to remap the hardware buttons on the sides of the xv6800 such as the "ok" and "camera" buttons. I know you can reassign the buttons' functions by going to Settings -> Buttons. For example, "Button 5" has the additional option to assign a function to "Press and hold". How can I add this option to the other buttons? Is there a registry hack to achieve this? I'd rather find a way do this without installing AE Button Plus. Thanks for your help!

I know that you have asked the question before, and as far as I know there is no registry hacks that allow mapping of the buttons. Why are you trying to avoid installing AEButton Plus? Cost? Memory footprint? .....The memory footprint is ~120K and it is practically free. There are other alternatives. They are talked about in the thread Are there really no way to truly close apps with the "OK" button?. Hbutton allows mapping of the 5 keys but not the ok/start menu. HandySwitcher also allows mapping of the OK button.

I use Spb Pocket Plus to map my hardware keys. The software does a lot more than just map keys.

AEB Button Plus is an excellent program. It allows you to remap EVERY button. There are options for a single press, double press, triple press and a long press.
I have tried others and this is the best (for me). Some programs only allow you to change some of the buttons. |
