xv 6800 and Vista 64 Bit
 

I have a ppc-6800 and a friend of mine is wanting to buy one. She has had issues with other phones and PDAs because she is running Vista 64 bit. Is the 6800 compatible with this OS? She cannot find too many other devices that she likes that are compatible. I have seen one other post where a person was syncing with a vista 64 machine, but he was having problems, so I do not want to use that post as proof of compatibility.

if the vzw rom uses the drivers as sprint and alltel, the phone works on Windows 2008 Server Enterprise 64-bit

I have yet to find a Windows Mobile device that doesn't support ActiveSync 4.5 and/or the Vista Mobile Device Center (make sure you grab the latest updates from the Microsoft Download Center). I was previously using my Mogul on XP x64 using ActiveSync 4.5, so I am pretty confident that Vista x64 support is better than XP's.

Thank you for the reply. As it turns out, she has been using a very old Palm device. She has been unable to sync it since buying a new computer (that she didn't realize had a 64bit processor) and she had had to buy tons of new devices as there were no 64bit drivers available. She did not want to buy the phone and then not have it work.

Yes, it works perfectly fine with Vista x64. I have a mogul and I use it on my Vista x64 system all the time.

you can run 32-bit os on amds... the only thing that 64bit is good for is games that use it and cpu-intensive tasks like compiling software or rendering anything from 3d to video

the 6700 and 6800 and HTC Wizard work fine on my Vista Ultimate 64 machine
