Stay clear from that device if you ask me. I had it for a couple days and right away I was tired of it. They never fixed any of the performance "bugs" from the previous devices and it is nothing like Windows Mobile or even Palm devices. The device is slow and performs simple tasks slowly. You click on something on say the 6700 and it opens without using any resources. On the Pearl you will run into several problems with the device:
The trackball doesn't last more than a few weeks before becoming really hard to use and this is on two devices I have had or used. If you like your experiences on previous Blackberry devices, this is nothing pleasant like the previous ones. I had the 7130e and liked that but the new interface hardware is horrible in my experience.
The software the runs the device is rather slow for the price you will likely pay. To launch a program from the menu it takes some time maybe just seconds but after a while I really got tired of it working so hard to load the program when I was only asking for a small task. It is not consistent in loading time either.

Feel free to ask other questions and I can appreciate any feedback from other users of the same device. I just traded my Pearl in for a freebie, I hated it that much.
Things I should mention is I am biased to Windows Mobile and QWERTY keyboards hardware that comes with the 6700 and the like. I tried to put aside the obvious that this Pearl wasn't a Windows Device but even with the email that works pretty well, I still stand by Microsoft and their Windows Mobile PocketPc Phone Edition. You can not compare the two in my opinion.

Your welcome, I'd be interested in hearing your decision. If you really want to have the Blackberry, go to a store and try using it first, I think you'll find my review to be quite annoyingly accurate.

I just didn't want to see someone doomed with useless technology. I mean really, Microsoft Push I think works just as well as Blackberry Email and even that you can get on the Mogul I think. I know it may be lacking a little but I am glad you chose to stick it out and hopefully the mogul will see some TLC.. Give it some time and someone will be able to get it working like we saw with the 6700. Based on Sprint past though, I hope they actually release more updates than the 6700 saw. Stock ROMs were awful.

i think the blackberry is more oriented towards people who need it to work over everything else, like a stockbroker or someone where a missed email can cost millions.
not to mention people who are paid to maintain the service, cuz with sprint i can have pretty much anything and everything i need for $15/mo for the vision. yeah, yeah, i know, no sero, but i got a $10/mo plan as a spiff, and i'm on an employee discount thru my co.
but, yeah, unless you have a specific need, i can't see anyone getting a blackberry just because.

no more "I don't know what everyone is talking about, my mogul works perfectly" comments.. if you think this then you're not trying to use the phone as its suppose to be used, which is nothing to brag about

Actually you're wrong. Mine works great, and I use it "like it's supposed to be used".
