Darkness231 12-20-2007 05:57 PM

Mine started to do that a while back. I tried uninstalling every program, never figured it out. Fortunately it was right before the new ROM came out and a Hard Reset Fixed it.

sciontc619 12-21-2007 10:22 AM

yeah i havent put any of the new rom or anything on it i dont want to loose anything and my dog chewed my cord to the ocmputer so i cant sync is their any way to back it up without losing everything

Darkness231 12-21-2007 12:37 PM

SPB Backup or Sprite Backup

sciontc619 12-21-2007 01:48 PM

will it also backup my contacts or do i have to write all them down?

[sammich] 12-21-2007 01:56 PM

to backup the contacts, you can use PIM Backup. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=299705

I think I know how to fix the problem though...

I know you can change the sound your phone makes when you press the end key. I have a vista sound there...

Try this. I'm not sure that it will fix it, but its worth a try. Go to your windows directory, and delete the file Midi2Wave_079_4098.wav. You may need to unhide the ROM files and use a third party file explorer to delete it. If delete doesnt work, just cut and paste it somewhere else

sciontc619 12-21-2007 02:09 PM

is their anyway you can kinda give me steps to do that because i have no idea how to do that and id rather not have to backup my phone and all

[sammich] 12-21-2007 02:14 PM

To do what, the backup or removing the file?

I'll just go with the file:

1. Download Resco File Explorer
2. Rune the program, and navigate to \Windows
3. Locate the file Midi2Wave_079_4098.wav
4. Tap and hold, and press "cut"
5. Navigate to any other folder on the phone, preferably the storage card
6. Tap and hold, and press "paste"
7. Soft reset your phone and press the "end key" once its booted up

That took ALOT less time than I thought...

Extract the file to your device, and the use Resco File Explorer to copy and paste it into the \Windows directory. Press yes when it asks you to overwrite and overwrite in the ROM.

Soft reset, and tell me what happens

sciontc619 12-21-2007 02:59 PM

didnt work maybe if you change it to the dpadctl it may work

sciontc619 12-21-2007 04:59 PM

hey do ya think if you make the same thing for the dpadctl file it me get rid of it

[sammich] 12-21-2007 06:03 PM

No need to make another, just rename the sound file to dpadctl

Soft reset, and again... tell me if it works

dpadctl is a midi (.mid) file and so I'm not sure just renaming it would work. Also renaming it does not change the extension unless the extension is shown (and changed). I converted the Midi2Wave_079_4098.wav file (flatline) that saumaun uploaded to a midi and then renamed it dpadctl.mid. You can try this to see if it helps.

sciontc619 12-22-2007 09:14 PM

it worked darkness thanks for the help alot and as well as saumaun

[sammich] 12-23-2007 02:42 PM

Darkness... thanks! I didn't check to see if it was a .wav or not

Glad it worked!

Re: need help with Mogul beeping

You would need to create a midi file and name is dpadctl.mid and drop that into the windows directory. You can put it in the windows directory using Active Sync or you can download a free file explorer program such as Total Commander or use the built in file explorer.
