Quick Question. How Do I Back Up My Current Rom.
I am tired of constantly having to re-install all of my software whenever I load a new ROM.
I would like to go back and forth between ROMS, just so that I can compare them. How do I do I back up my entire ROM and its contents. Used to be, you could do this, with older versions of Active Sync, and ROM Update programs. Now, we are no longer prompted to backup or roms. Is there a utility or tool to get sort of a "Ghost" image of my current ROM? |
Spb or Sprite backup will partially do it and both are commercial applications. They will restore the ROM to the same state as when you backed it up. However, it is not like ghost in that you must have a ROM flashed to the device unlike Ghost which requires to OS to do a restore.
You should only do a restore to the same version of a ROM that you backed up from. For example, if you backed up a 2.14 ROM and then flashed a 2.17 ROM you shouldn't use the 2.14 restore. Newer versions of Sprite advertise that you can do what I just stated not to, but I wouldn't suggest it. |
