How do I make a dock for my WAD screen?

I'm not sure if this is the proper forum for this topic. Let me know if not.

I want to make my own docks and maybe some other things for my WAD screen, but I'm not sure how. I have Photoshop CS2. When I create a dock the way I want it, with the transparency I want, I try to save it but I'm not sure what format to save it as. Is there a tutorial or something so I can learn how to do this stuff? Thanks!

WAD and dock?? what software are you using would help.

I guess I assumed most would recognize it. It is Wisbar Advance Desktop. I am trying to make some custom docks for it.

Use a graphics program like Photoshop.

I have Photoshop CS2, I just mainly need to know what format to save it in and also how to allow each object to keep its transparency.

You should be able to use png and tga files.

OK, i just tried that with a simple rectangle. When I save it with a transparent background, and then open it with a picture viewer, it shows the rectangle inside a big white background. How do I get just the colored object to show with no background?

Did you create the alpha channel for the transparency?

I'm not real good at this stuff. You would probably be better off asking at the Wisbar forums.

Yeah, I've heard of that before, but havent found any tutorials on it. I have posted at the Wisbar forums, but they arent as high traffic as this forum so I havent had any replies yet.

go to lakeridgesoftware.com they have forums that talk about this extensively. Why you wouldnt look at the place you got your software from is beyond me.
