Getting the Threadedsms MMS to work?
 

Has anyone gotten the palmthreaded sms or the codythreaded sms app to work with mms also? or just the arcsoft one?

Id much rather not install the arcsoft mms, its annoying and slow...
But iv read the threadedsms one has never worked...


any info?

whats wrong with the normal threaded sms app?

divxpimp is referring to the palm threaded sms app that, along with text messaging, has an mms function, much like picturemail, that does not work.

i would like to see that feature as well but haven't seen any advances towards setting up mms parameters (sprint multimedia servers, etc.)

i edited them
and it sends to 100% then gives me some sorta error about wrong format or some crap...

MMS won't work on the threaded SMS app for us because its designed for GSM devices. It doesn't work with CDMA devices like ours. It works fine with GSM carriers like T-Mobile & AT&T.

but if the sms app was ported from the palm, wasn't that a cdma phone? did it work on cdma palms or just on gsm versions?

some palms are, some aren't, just like htc phones.

use the other mms app. palm threaded sms threads sms just fine. can't do mms.

the 750w from which the program was extracted was a GSM phone.

So the CDMA Palm did not have the threaded sms app installed?

yes but the software heeded no advances. Further more palm has made it clear that they do not want us to fix this issue. Which is why those who COULD fix it in the past have backed down.


Its also my experience that sprint has no intention of letting us anywhere near there mms servers. Which is why these devices dont have mms native. This is not my opinion. This is coming from a sprint corp data rep. The servers are there... we just lack the authentication to get there.

I have a working form of MMS installed on my sprint mogul: granted I do not receive Picture mail in the form its supposed to but a link to the picture on sprints server is okay for me. The biggest thing this mms program allows me to do is send Picture mail without having to put in there mobile phone email address.

Now to my question. I have the cody threaded sms. I LOVE THIS. But it whacks out on me and After reading the above I assume it is because I have the MMS installed on my phone.

I think if i uninstalled MMS Cody's pluging would work (yes?) but before I uninstall my working MMS cab, would Cody's plugin allow me to SEND picture mail to standard phone numbers ?

I have had both installed and they work fine... and no codys does not allow the sending of mms, thats what i was asking... I knew it was broken, i just wanted to know why...
Iv never heard of a conflict between codythreaded sms and arcsoft mms...

What gets me, and I got this from a sprint store rep who seemed pretty knowledgeable, is that the 755p can recieve picture mail the right way, straight to the phone instead of to the website like we have to deal with. Why can't we have the same capability?

I second that also.. i find it kinda dumb downloading it from a site when we have that can easily get the image.

Is anyone else having the problem when viewing pic mail via the link you receive the picture will not expand. All I have is a small thumbnail that is impossible to view??

It appears that the Acrsoft MMS Hack is no longer working.

Hopefully this is a Sprint problem and will self correct. Otherwise we maybe looking for another solution.

If you are using the Titan on the test ROM, you may just have to update your User Agent String.

WELL, IF IT AIN'T ANOTHER FORM OF WORKING MMS FOR OUR MOGULS, THEN I AS MUCH AS ANYONE ELSE WOULDN'T EVEN KNOW WHERE TO START LOOKING AGAIN... I'M GETTING TOO MANY SIZE LIMITATIONS FROM MINE, EVEN WITH THE SIZE LIMIT REGISTRY HACK, IT'S SO PAINFUL TO USE IT.

Well, I used Codys SMS and I could send/ receive texts great, and could also receive MMS great, but i couldn't send MMS from my XV6800 on the verizon system.... I believe it has to do with how his program formats the header data versus how Verizons system reads it..... I would think someone who has the knowhow could write an intercept .dll that would take Codys output MMS and rearrange the header data to fit verizons needs and everyone would be happy.... that way nobodys steppin on Palms toes and we have working threaded MMS..... just a thought....
