Zumobi
Anybody see this on Gizmodo
The Microsoft backed Zumobi browser is now freely available to download for anyone running Windows Mobile 5 or 6 (Blackberry and selected J2ME compatibility will be coming early in the second quarter of 2008.). They have also announced content partnerships with providers such as Amazon.com, MTV Networks, The Associated Press, AccuWeather.com, Traffic.com, FlightStats.com and OTOlabs, who developed Tiles for Vail Resorts and Fox Television's "Family Guy. http://gizmodo.com/gadgets/cellphone...ced-333985.php http://www.zumobi.com/ |
It's a pretty cool app, but quite a memory hog.
Edit: Also, no way to uninstall it. here is the link: http://my.zumobi.com/AppDownload?code=8596863 |
I just got an invite to sign up and download zumobi. But the only way to get it is for them to send a text with the download link. I have sprint blocking most corporate text messages (i was getting a couple "ringtone" messages a day) so I didnt get the text.
Does anyone have a download link for it? Thanks |
Nice. Downloaded and am surfing it now. Uses a bit of memory but I figured as much. Interactive and easy to use. Thanks for the heads up!

Ok I got a Sprint Mogul. This application took a full five minutes to install (~3MB Download). After it installed my overall phone speed was reduced down to like 25%, menu navigation was horrible. I was not able to log into Zumobi because I encountered a GUI glitch in the program that prevented me (thats why its still beta). Out of frustration I tried uninstalling it which took close to 10 minutes to complete. This program is very memory intensive. I only had Palringo running, and have very few programs installed. I am running the 2.17 firmware. This is my story :)

First time I ran the installer it took about five or six minutes and failed. Second time took just as long and succeeded. It's pretty cool so far. Not sure how useful it'll be, though. It's halfway between an RSS reader and a browser. As I pretty much never got into RSS readers, though, I'm not sure I'll continue using it heavily unless some pretty unique channels that make strong use of it show up. I like it, though, so I want to keep playing with it. |
