What is the ultimate ppc 6800 set up that works the best?

I have been experimenting on modding my ppc 6800 and am having various problems installing running and getting my home page set up. I dont know if it is running multiple apps or what.

So what is the ultimate or best set up for a fully customized ppc that works the best?

There is so many different versions etc who knows what to get anymore

Please post the links for all of the dowloads to please.

That would be all subjective. Whatever you like the best is the best.

I'm more of an IT Professional user, so my needs are a) get work done-- email, calendar, tasks, office, remote desktop, and b) tinker like hell so when people ask me goofy questions about their phones I know what to tell them or at least where to look for answers.

My program list:
AIM
Google Maps
HTC Task Manager (X-Button) 2.0
Inbox Extender (for Mark All as Read)
Macromedia Flash Player
Microsoft Office
Microsoft OneNote
PHM RegEdit
Remote Desktop
Voice Speed Dial
Windows Live Mobile
Windows Live Search
and for fun I install Emperor's Mahjong and the Microsoft Game Pack.

I also have a rather large set of registry hacks that I make to my phone, and yes, I wrote an entire cab script to install them whenever I hard reset.

You're welcome to check my section of the FTP (link below) if you want to grab the CAB's for what I've done. (Disclaimer: the Apps I have posted aren't my original work... they all come from various other sources, but I have extracted them all, customized the installers to my preferences, and re-packaged them.)

Interesting list. A couple questions. You list Microsoft Office but isn't that built in? Same for Speed Dial and Live Search. These are standard on the Mogul.

For myself so far I'd add the Video "hack" addon allowing all the various flash video sites, Total Commander (free), WisBar Lite (instead of the HTC Task Manager), and PocketXpdf. For fun I'd add a book reader (Microsoft Reader for me) and whatever games are your style.

I am definitely a tinker'er as well... more recreation than professional I would guess... I have the following on mine w/ Custel's that operates VERY stable:

HTC Home Plugin - Large Clock display/Organizer from Touch
HTC Home Customizer - Customizes Home Plugin
HTC Dialer - Optional Dialer from Touch
HTC Audio Manager - Optional Media Alternative from Touch
HTC 10 Button CommManager - Optional Comm from Touch
HTCustom - Another Customizer
Office Mobile - Stock
Windows Live - Removed
Voice Dial - Removed
TaskMgr - Task & Application Management tool
TCPMP - Needed for You Tube'ing videos
TCPMP Plugin V0.4.2 - Needed for You Tube'ing videos
Skunkworks VideoBundle - Needed for You Tube'ing videos
PCM Keyboard - Optional Touch Keyboard
Total Commander - Optional Registry Editor
SKTools 3.1 - PPC Cleaner, File Management & Registry Tool
Pocket Plus 4.0 - Today Plugin Organizer
Flashlite 2.1 - Allows for various animations, etc
Macromedia - Allows for various animations, etc
Touchflo V1.4.1 - Touch UI
TouchfloConfig - Configures TouchFlo on/off, gestures, etc
Google Maps 2.0 - Terrific Mapping Application
TouchPadVibrate - Vibrates Dial pad When Dialing

Plus I have the common tweaks and power registry edits and after ~20 hours plus of usage, I have 22.3MB of ROM stable...:headbang:

But just like paravis said, it's all subjective and the end result will vary upon what/how YOU want your device to function and look.

Can you elaborate on your "common tweaks ans power registry edits"? I have almost the exact same set of cabs installed, however after 20 hours of use I'm at about 5meg of RAM. Perhaps I should check out custel's ROM. I've only tried DCD's and the new stock 2.17.

xweaponx 12-13-2007 01:47 PM

Custel's Rom came with just about every power tweak, BT fix, etc that keeps my device running smoothly. With Custel's as the base foundation, everything else stacked upon it keeps it stable and snappy. I have been VERY pleased with this setup.

CDRacingZX6R 12-13-2007 06:04 PM

Custel's Rom sounds very interesting. Does it help with the poor battery life issues that 2.17 seems to help with?
