PPC6800 several issues

The PPC6800 has been a huge disapointment. I wonder if anyone has a fix for any of several problems.
First my alarm will not activate untill I turn the phone off of hibernate. So if I set the alarm and leave the phone beside the bed the alarm will not go off untill I press the button and turn the phone off of hibernate. Very unusefull.
Second, several times during each day my phone will lock up while I am carring it in the holster. I wont have any idea it is locked untill I take it out and try to use it. then I have to do a soft reset to free it up. also, the camera is very disapointing. Very grainy and kind of fuzzy pics.
Those are the main issues for now although I have others. Any help is greatly appreciated.

skywlkr67, goto http://www.america.htc.com/support/m...downloads.html and update your phones rom. This update 2.17 fixes most of the issues you describe. The annoying alarm not working when charging is definantly fixed.

A camera on cell phone is more of a gimmick. I have never seen any phone that takes great pictures. I would suggest getting a real camera for quality photos.

I wager u are using BT when the phone locks up, this is a known issue, as is the alarm problem, if you plug the phone in overnight it will keep the phone active and the alarm will go off, i have heard that the new roms for sprint fix this, i can't say for sure as i use alltel not sprint.

Yep... the camera phone is meant for those times when you say "dang! I wish I had my camera with me!" Definitely not meant for "I don't need my digital camera for vacation, I have my camera phone."

Are you sure that the 2.17 update took? Have you installed any third party apps? Just curious since the 2.17 has been working flawlessly for me. I use MNotes for push email and it eats all but about 13 MB of the available RAM. Have only had one lockup and I think it was due to MNotes.

If you go to settings, device information the ROM version should be 2.17.651.0.

If you still have issues I'd take it to a Sprint store to have it serviced. If you are really unhappy with the device there are lots of posts about sprint exchanging the phone.

Flashing does not erase everything, make sure you do a hard reset after flashing with a new system and before you actually set it up again. You're asking for trouble if you don't and these phones are flaky enough without dumping trash from a previous system onto a new system.

I have the same problem and the only other apps that I have installed are:
Microsoft Live Search
HTC Home
Google Maps
OreExplorer
Any thoughts on which one might be causing the problem? I thought I'd wait for ideas before removing the apps and reinstalling.
