Program Memory PPC 6800

How do I get more program memory on my 6800? I close out all the running programs but I'm still left with very little memory. I have to reset & then it frees up some of it. Why is this? What can I do to stop this?

i started a similar thread on ram upgrades, but it appears that they have none when it comes to physical hardware. but software wise, i will recommend you to something called SDK Tools, and i'll tell you it works great for my device.

oh, and also note that the 6800 comes with memory leaks, so there's almost nothing we can do to stop it, unless you keep in mind what i recommended to you earlier and use it every now and then. and also note that if anyone were to tell you to download oxios, do not do itt. cause it made something strange happen to my windows media player after i freed up ram space with it...

Oxios is a good RAM clearing program and it free!, Sorry didn't see the last post. But oxios works fine for me

well, since it works fine for you, i dunno why it kept giving me problems with my windows media player stating "not enough memory to perform operation", it's as funny as a t-mo wing saying "WDP HOOKER" as soon as it boots up... or could it be... oh, and could you do me a small favor and see if anything plays on windows media player after frequent use of oxios and tell me if it works or not please?

thanks.

Well I rarely use WMP, or any other media player. I'll give it a try tomorrow at work

that you do, and if oxios gives you the same issue, then you should also try SDK Tools. now that's software that i've been using that never gives me problems with my video playback after frequent usage of it. and if it doesn't give you the same problem with WMP, then oxios is good with your device.

where can i find this "sdk tools"?

do a search for Quickmenu, it's a start menu replacement that also include a hibernation function to reclaim memory... try it or at least read up on it, many here on the site live and die by it myself included.

here's the link for SDK TOOLS... http://s-k-tools.com/index.html?m_downloads.html#tools
