Extracting Video from Mogul

I can't seem to get video I took on the mogul to play on my computer. I've tried the K-lite codec pack, windows media player, real player and quicktime. Can anyone help? Thanks!

mp4 is most likely the format its in.Quicktime should have played that. I would uninstall quicktime and redownload latest version.

Just tried that. Didn't work. Got Invalid sample description message. Anyone other ideas?

What format in the camera are you using?
in the camera settings, check what format...

it's set to the default .mp4. I have a file I've been trying to get to play for a couple of days now. Plays fine on the phone but is a no go on my computer. Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

sounds like

do you have Encryption turned on? if so and you are using the the storage card to save to, the only thing that will read the file is the phone.

VLC plays it but with no sound apparently.

I do have it set to save to the memory card, but no encryption.

I've used a free trial version of various software that convert the mp4 to avi

boubert 11-30-2007 03:22 AM

TCPMP also makes a version for pc and it seems to play everything that i play on my PPC

i recommend against the codec pack becuz i've had it make some files unplayable, and it does so much, that it's hard to troubleshoot one bad codec.
VLC is the shizz for playing all the standard and non-standard formats.

The solution here for the Mogul .mp4 video is to rename the extension to .3gp

Then it will play in Quicktime. it's so stupid that QT can't just play it as is, but i guess I'm just too dumb to see the genius in it.

Makes me think of Invader Zim where he meets Gir and he asks
Zim: "Is it supposed to be stupid?"
Tallest Purple: (supressing laughter) "It's not stupid, it's advanced!"

I changed my camera settings from mpg4 to avi so I could go from Mobile to Desktop without a converter. But, what is the deal with the fact that WMP 11 for the PC will not play a mpg4, but a 6700 or 6800 with mobile WMP does? Different codex model?
I don't mean to hijack with tread but a little insight would help.

First time poster long time reader. Thanks

Just use 3GPP2. Works fine and plays in Real Player on desktop.
