hmm if that is true then the roaming/ freezing problem may be resolved.

Any manual download for 60611 yet or do I have to call Sprint (trying to avoid this)?. Didn't see it on http://www.corolada.com/prl/

With the 2.16 ROM, it wasn't the roam switching that was causing the lockup, rather it was the switching between 1X and EVDO. This would be likely to happen when switching from Sprint to Roam, but could also lock up if on roam only and the data connection switched from 1X to EVDO or vice-versa.

Not sure if the 2.17 (with latest radio) is the same, but it certainly sounds like that is the case.

Not sure if this is related to the 2.17 ROM but I can't get the MMS to work. I installed the cab, even adjusted the registry to allow a larger file size. I keep getting an error that says ""your message of 53k exceeds the sending limit of 0k. Please remove some content and try again." MMS worked just fine before the 2.17 rom update, that's why i was wondering if it was a problem.

Any ideas? other than that I haven't had any problems with 2.17.

Edit: Was able to get it working by uninstalling and reinstalling the MMS cab - not sure what was up the first time, I installed the same MMS cab then as I did now but it works, so i'm not complaining.

ok so i just called sprint and got my prl updated to 60611.

It did stop it from freezing up right away while searching for a roaming signal requiring a battery pull....... BUT I still cannot connect to any roaming carrier * without * a soft reset while in roam only.

ALSO, if i open any apps while its trying to find a roaming signal i cannot close the app window it is stuck there, AND if you turn the display off while it is searching for a roaming signal, it will not wake up....requiring a battery pull.

BOOOOOO !!!!

Well, it was a nice idea. Guess I'll be waiting until 2008.

well here goes.....broke down and fashed the 2.17 rom......and knock on wood, so far, so good.....little or no issues. bluetooth is a dramatic difference on the other end of the call.....made several calls from it and has been said that the clarity from myself talking is much much better. apps seem to run fine so far as well.....memory is the same for me as it was prior....still running between 55 and 65% on a regular basis.....jumps up to between 70 and 80% when i run some apps.....the bubblebreaker game on occasion. havent really had a chance to run internet explorer too much on it lately......just been tired from working 7 nights a week so i will repost on that. battery life is a little better for me.....was able to reinstall my extra cabs with little or no problem. i have really only had to do one or two soft resets. i have had the rom for about 3 days now.....not sure about the roaming yet, because i dont roam much at all......normally try to keep it in sprint only mode. only quirk is that i have had only 1 or 2 dropped calls on my bluetooth so far.....but i think that was only because i i hit a dead spot.......had the same problem in the same spot with my other phone...( lg rumor).....basically happy....if they can improve on the fixes and add what they are talking about adding to the next update coming out, then i might just have to change my opinion on my mogul being a good investment.

one more thing also....here is a slight list of some of the extras i am running on my phone

***x-button 1.5
***audio manager
***htc task manager
***poorlyduck's touchflo and touch cube along with his quicklaunch...the yellow version...works great and he has it on a thread here***
***PPCPimbackup
***Wizard retouch
***HTC Home....the one with the big clock on it
***i'm not sure if its part of the home listed above, but it also has the quick links for weather, ringtones, and audio manager on my today screen
***camera album

No - as has been somewhat widely reported, it's not fixed.

Yes. Based on information regarding updated PRL, it was a hypothesis. As noted by posts further on down the page, those with the updated PRL are still having issues.
