Are you referring to the 2.09 rom?

Now, I may be bias because I work for the company, but I don't think you need to be upset at Sprint. Sprint didn't manufacture the phone. Sprint isn't like a car company where they have to stand by the product they make. The only thing Sprint should have to stand up and answer for is your cellular service. That's it. Sure, they sell you phones, but Sprint has to make bids on those phones and pay for them in order to sell them to you. That's why the company has different choices. Palm, Research In Motion, HTC, Motorola, Sanyo, Samsung...blah blah blah. Those companies have to answer for their products.

That being said, this is kind of ridiculous. But I personally don't want to go to the Touch because I like my keyboard. I know the Touch will be faster, but I'm a texter and email is my thing. I can'd deal with a phone that expects me to text on the same size screen as the Mogul.

That doesn't make much sense. Sprint still tests devices before they are released. These devices have the Sprint brand on them, so they are as responsible as HTC for their performance. Even more for a software update since they need to approve it before HTC can even post it.

By that statment there are so many things that we couldn't complain about. I couldn't get mad at my cable company if my cable box doesn't work because they didn't make it, they just provide the cable service, but then when the service fails they can say that a fuse (or whatever, it's an example) failed and we cannot blame them because they didn't make it, they just use it.

See my point? My opinion is that if your brand is on something, then you are responsible for its performance. I wish I could get away with that at my workplace!

Also, to add to that, Sprint told HTC to buzz off when it comes to support. Sprint wants to solely support the device? Well then they can expect to bear the brunt of the criticism when THEY screw up. They can't play that game... consumers are too wise for that. You can't simply claim all rights to support for something, then pass the buck when it doesn't work right. This is Sprint's issue now... they chose to eat the support on it, so now they get the firestorm.

When is the 6800 being released by Verizon? I want a rom dump and then port it over to the Mogul. Any devs out there with the VZ phone...

That's the same idea I have, mikee... Verizon wouldn't make Sprint's same mistakes...

What's with Sprint these days? They release these HTC products that they seem to barely understand, fill ROMs with bloatware that's more advertising for Sprint than it is USEFUL SOFTWARE, and then release a bunk upgrade that caused more problems than it solved. They ought to pay Helmi_c a lot of the others at XDADevelopers and the Core Crew here at PPCGeeks a princely sum to fix the code and make the thing work.
I don't even have a Mogul, and it bugs me.
