battery/connection problem - caused by prss Reader

Hey guys,

I searched and didn't find any reference to this here. For months, I was suffering from quick battery discharges (often dead by the middle of the afternoon with very little phone use) and many missed calls that would end-up in VM.

On several occasions while driving, I noticed that my double arrow connection indicator was lighting up for about 10-15 seconds and it was happening every 45 seconds or so!! I tried changing my settings in ActiveSync, WeatherPanel, and everything that used a data connection with no results. prssReader was set to update channels every 60 minutes. I changed that to 2 hrs, then to 4 hrs with no change. It was still connecting almost continuously.

I finally decided to uninstall applications one by one. prssReader was the first to go, and viola! Problem cured.

Anyone else running this app (successfully or otherwise)???

You should be able to set the retrieval up to only look when you want. Newsbreak and a couple of other ones I have used allowed me to look just once a day. Look for the settings, they tend to hide them.

You are correct. However, it didn't seem to matter what I setting I selected -- it still connected faster than Lindsey Lohan looking for booze.
