I got mine exchanged today for a new one. I work in politics and I plan to raise the issue of Sprint's performance with their lobbyist the next time I see him.

Hi,

Thank you for writing back to us.

I apologize for the inconvenience caused due to the breakdown in
communication. Please let me know on which PCS line Mougal phone is active.

We have received the emails from other customers as well regarding the
problem with the Mougal phone. This issue has already been escalated to
the higher management and our engineers are working to resolve these
issues.

I am waiting for your response. If your PCS Mougal phone is active on
the account then we will apply a credit for all the charges that will
incur while visiting a store. Our store agent will do a physical
interaction with your phone.

Have a great day.

I think you did not read my email, this is just what I am talking
about, everyone passing off to another. It has been well noted that the
phone model mogul has the problem not just my phone, I am even more upset
now. I have been told it works as good as it is going to, I resent
even hate that you did not read what i wrote, and I waited 8 hours for a
reply that did not make any sense

HOW CAN YOU FIX it, not just my phone, I think you are in beach of
contract, I have conttract to pay you have contract to provide the service
I pay for, not just keep sending me round and round. They can not fix
the problem. It needs new ROM that was promised in Fall 2007, provided
and caused more problems that it fix and was removed.

My point was very simple. I'm not denying you may have issues with your Mogul. I don't, my mogul works perfectly. My issue is with everyone constantly whining and whining about how terrible a device the Mogul is, and how this phone is/will be so much better. And how they are switching, and blah blah blah. This isn't the whine about Mogul and tell us how awesome your Touch is board. We're all aware of all the issues everyone has with their Moguls, it only get's posted like a hundred times a day. :| Whining doesn't help, making posts about how you're going to switch to the Touch, or how the Touch is a million times better doesn't help. If you really hate the phone so much, go be happy with your Touch, and leave us who are happy with our Moguls the hell alone.

If someone says they have a Mogul that works perfectly then they must not use their phone for very much or they are just wanting to troll and be flamebait. Our IT department made a huge mistake by purchasing a new Mogul for everone in our department instead of going with the "standard" corporate crackberry that our sales department and other divisional IT departments use. Not because of the PPC platform but because of the phone. I think the most frustrating issues come from Sprint because well, they are Sprint and that should speak for itself when it comes to customer service and the fact that HTC is rolling out all of these other models into the market and not agressively addressing the issues with the phones that have already been out for months. We just have to face the fact that since most of us are most likely under contract of some sorts and have put out a decent amount of cash for the phone and don't want to lose that investment that Sprint has us by the you know what. Unless you end up dealing with customer retention you don't usually get anywhere with Sprint. I use my phone for critical business and at this point I'm really tired of being a beta tester for someone else at my expense. If I paid for this phone and it wasn't the company account I would have already paid a visit to someone and would have dumped this POS. The sad thing and also the most frustrating thing is that I'm the person that pushed for this phone and I still really like it. For me it has became that unhealthy relationship with the girl of your dreams but because she is mentally ill and untreated her good looks are starting to no longer out weigh the hell you go through as you ride the bipolar express.

Why do you think people port cabs from the Touch to the Mogul? Saying X works on the Touch , but not on the Mogul, so lets port it over to the Mogul IS PRODUCTIVE.

QFT and thanks. My sentiments exactly.

I've had my Mogul for a month and the only problems I had were due to two programs I installed after I bought it. You know how hard this was to fix? Hard reset, re-sync, and install the few apps I use that don't crap it up.

While there can be fundamental problems with a device, many of the problems that occur after it's purchased is due to owners adding/removing a bunch of apps to try. Or installing and using apps that cause conflicts. (Not speaking specifically of the Mogul. This happens with other devices and with other OSs. as well.)

It's good to keep in mind, too, that these devices are not meant to actually be the multimedia, mobile desktop, and life organizer that we often want them to be. Mobile phones/PDAs are not desktop/notebook replacement computers.

WTF??? I was with you until that last sentence... are you kidding me? Not meant to be a multimedia, mobile desktop, and life organizer? Then why do they (Microsoft, HTC, Sprint, etc) tout the fact that it has a Media player, can open Office documents, and sync with both your corporate and personal email, calendar, and tasks???

I'm sorry, but WM6 Professional phones are designed specifically to be a multimedia, mobile desktop, and life organizer. If you didn't need those functions then just go out and buy any flip phone.

Um, I'm sorry, but if something is called a Pocket PC, I expect it to be a PC that fits in my pocket. Not a phone that has some calendar functionality. Normal phones do that and more.

So, do you think that since they called a car a Mustang that it should have four legs and a tail? Or that since they called it a Mogul, it ought to come with it's very own rich snob?

Seriously. They can call it whatever they want. What you call something and what it's capable of doing are two different things.

I stand by the original statement. Yes, they are powerful devices that do a lot. But they are not replacements for computers with faster processors and more memory.

Wow.... you are really bad at analogies. And no one ever said or implied they were replacements for (desktop) computers with faster processors and more memory, you just threw that one in.

Some of us here are IT pros and we know EXACTLY what they are meant for and have no illusions about what they can and can't do.
