Sprint Locator
 

Lost my phone used Sprint locator to find long story short locator say it uses gps or agps w/e, so my question is how come a program like garmin mobile is not available i had it on my mm9000 worked good is there any reason that if they released it it wouldnt work

because there are no api's written for pda phones

very simple- the phone is transmitting information to Sprint's network, who determines your location based on the info it receives and using tower triangulation to supplement (notice that its accurate to something like 100 yards, not nearly as accurate as real GPS).

In other words, Sprint knows where you are, but the phone doesn't necessarily. This is not true GPS in which the phone would know its own location, therefore you can't really use it for much.

Yeah, I have Family locator service too and can locate myself, but for my Mogul it gives a large area where it might be, were as my son's Razar V3 it gives a small area of 9 yards he is in. I can tell if he's inside his freinds house or outside.
