Memory Leak?

Ok Just curious as to what a memory leak is. Is it a problem with just the sprint 6800 or is it a problem with the alltel version too. I have noticed that my 6800 from alltel is rather slow. It kinda freezes for a while and sometimes I need to soft reset (about twice a day)How do I go about seeing if thats the problem or if that is just how fast the phone really is.

I have the HTC home screen,
Slide2unlock2
PocketCM
and the Youtube programs installed.

Any help would be great as I am still relativly new to PPCs

Soft-reset your 6800.

Now go to Start/Settings/System/Memory

Check your free program memory. It should be 26-28 on a soft reset.

Now go and use your Mogul for a bit... go back to memory. Go to running programs, hit stop all, then go back to main (they're tabs at the bottom of the screen). If you're lucky, you'll have back 17-18MB of your RAM. If you're unlucky like my, you have less than 9.

Don't forget that if you don't have a program installed that closes applications when you click the "X" button, your ram will get used up real fast because none of the apps are actually closing.

I don't use those stupid programs. Instead, I use the running programs manager and manually close them. It doesn't help.

Hell, OXIOS can't even get back that memory anymore!

I'm going to have to hard reset AGAIN and hope for the best...

I can usually keep my RAM around 19mb free by using smclose.exe to close apps when I click on "X" and Oxios to free ram occaisonally.

I could for quite awhile too... like 2 weeks. But now something sucks my memory clear down to almost nothing.
