Bad software doesn't have to be running to mess up a system. System files can be replaced/erased or registry entries can be tampered with which can cause instabilities. To blame the Mogul as the culprit to a memory leak is very unlikely.

Sometimes it is not the user but the phones itself. I am on my fourth Mogul and may have to take this one back. The 1st one had keyboard failure. Either the letters would not show on the screen when a key was pressed or they would show in duplicate (jjj). That was replaced under warranty/no charge. Went to Sprint to pick up the 2nd phone and the screen was DOA! The phone would power up but no display on the screen. The Sprint CS rep sent it back and ordered the 3rd phone. Picked that one up and noticed that it had what looked like a bright, waterspot under the screen on the mid/low right hand side. When using the onscreen keyboard and the letter h was pressed, u would show up on the screen. The same thing with the letter j producing an i and k producing an o. As for the 4th Mogul that I am using now...everything works fine except for the wifi. I will admit to being busy and have not had a chance to try to tweak the settings. But I will say this, with the other 3 Moguls, once I turned the wifi switch on the side to the on position, they would pick up and list all nearby networks. Whereas when I flip the switch with this Mogul...nothing. The wifi icon shows up on the top of the screen, but no network information shows up like before.
