Warning about Soft-resetting your phone in the dark

make sure you cover the five pin hole with your finger first!
i didnt do that and i thought that was the hole and i f----d up all the pins and the phone wouldnt charge so i had to perform operation on it.

I didn't realize one of my pins were bent until I read this post and this is most likely the reason i've been having all my active sync problems!

Thanks for the post, my pins are all straight now!

i would like to add on...

dont just jab away until you thing youve found the pin, ive done it and lodged my memory stick in the phone, its really annoying to get out with out long finger nails (which i dont have) and makes the phone assume that there is no memory card in the slot

Word of advice, if you push gently and the phone doesn't soft reset, you probably have it in the wrong hole. Why would you stick your stylus in a hole on your phone and push so hard that it can actually damage it? Do you usually have to push the reset button that hard? I just don't see how you could damage your phone trying to soft reset. Don't get me wrong, I've stuck the stylus in just about every place but the soft reset button when I was trying to soft reset in the dark, but I never damaged the phone. As soon as I pushed a little and it didn't reset, I knew it wasn't in the right spot. Kinda like the same thing when you push a little bit and your girlfriend screams and punches you in the face, you know it isn't in the right spot.
