Cant get my phone to unlock..trying to flash DCD Rom
 

I want to use DCD's rom and i tried to unlock my phone by running the program. I connect my phone, then run the program and hit "unlock", thing comes up saying if the screen says...."...." disconnect and connect again and then message comes up that it is done. But when i run DCD's rom, the tri color screen still says sprint spl. What am i doing wrong. Please help

do you get the rainbow screen with "olipro 1.20" on it?

When i run the unlock program, i do get tri color screen with olipro 1.10 in it.

It should start the ROM update utility automaticly. Just follow the steps until it reads 1.20 then run RUU again and load DCD's ROM.

It asks me to unplug and plug the phone back in after i hit "unlock" do i need to do that?

yes you do and after that is done it should bring up steps that look just like they would when you were flashing and follow the steps and you will be all good

Ok, i finally got it, it says 1.20. Now do i just reboot the ppc and run the rom i want to flash with?

Thanks for all the help guys. I got it and now have DCD's rom on the phone. Really appreciate whoever helped me and people who put in time to create these custom programs/roms.

you dont even have to reboot just run the rom. 1.10 is never flashed, it was running as a step between the stock spl and the true 1.20-olipro. if you are seeing 1.20-olipro now, you are really unlocked, and can flash any rom.

You'll love what DCD put together. My phone runs great with it.

I lke what i see so far. I just hope the phone waking up on its own goes away. that is one of the biggest cause of battery drain.

I'm learning this new stuff with the 6800 right now.

Does the unlocker have to be followed by a ROM install, or can I unlock it, then wait and be ready for a custom ROM?

+1 there. i was tring colonel rom, but just too much stuff there. i like it clean.

+1, definately like dcd's rom better cause its smooter, i just wish i could install the newest version....

I haven't tried dcd's rom yet but I definitely like colonel's custom roms. Especially his latest one. The colonel doesn't really include anything that isn't necessary. He actually keeps it quite simple. Most of the stuff he includes with his roms, I end up installing anyway. I think I will give your rom a try though dcd. Sounds interesting. I may flash it later today when i get home from work and test it out.
