I'm installing the latest firmware now, posted by someone on Buzz. I'll let you know - I should have a good first test of BT within 1 hour -

I didn't install the Sprint junk, but as you can see (once I post screenshots) it is an update. So happy I spent the last 2 hours setting up my new phone just the way I like it......

Fancy new start up screen too!

Ok, I'll admit, I'm a noob .... Exactly how do I install this thing?

4 Door Skyline 10-23-2007 07:07 PM

4 Door Skyline 10-23-2007 07:07 PM

Existentialism 10-23-2007 07:08 PM

lol, just synch your phone to the pc and rune the EXE. Fairly simple. I'm gonna wait on you guys to OK this before I run it though. :p

Update:

NOW the official HTC page shows the new ROM 2.16...guess that sprint employee was right after all!

TurboFool 10-23-2007 07:10 PM

btw, what's the trick to not installing the Sprint optional stuff and, if I do that, what do I lose again and how do I add it later if I want it back? I might do that this time to save some space.

Sonny486 10-23-2007 07:10 PM

Just put it in. Nice boot up screens.. Got to setup everthing. BTW my computer has Vista...

Downside is I just got the phone so I have nothing to compare it to, except my old 6700 ;)

Trick to not installing sprint stuff is soft reset when it says "3 seconds installing software" after a hard reset.

Just download the file then follow the instruction, there's also a readme that's packaged with the install file. Make sure you back up the data you want, installing new rom is like doing a hard reset on your phone.

So it took Sprint/HTC 1.5 month to release a rom that was built in 09/03/07? *sigh* Thanks for those who helped by being the guinea pig :D

Pibe38 10-23-2007 07:14 PM

New thread everyone!

http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=10302

Easier to find info about the ROM and installation without having to go through 5 pages of us waiting for it ;)
