Change Voicemail Notification?
Is there any way of changing the voicemail notification to an mp3? I downloaded a couple mp3s to my ringtone folder, I then went into the "notifications" and found that I couldn't import files to the notifications.
Any ideas? |
Cut and paste them into the rings folder that is located in your windows folder.
|
If it doesn't work there, try placing the file in the \Windows directory.

Put it in the rings folder, that doesn't work. Where is this Windows directory?

just windows, anywhere in there but not in any of the folders within the windows directory. do this, find the file, cut or copy it, then go to file explorer, locate the windows directory and open it, scroll all the way down, then paste it anywhere in there.

Are you trying to do this via ActiveSync or a file explorer on the device? |
the rings folder is in the windows directory, you were halfway there man

Yeah, but he may be using the My Ringtones found in \My Documents. There's also a Rings directory under \Windows.
However, IIRC, even if MP3 files are placed in \Windows\Rings they will not show available as options for SMS, E-mail and Voicemail; so they would need to be placed in \Windows, no sub-directory. Also, if you are using ActiveSync, you may need to go to Folder Options and enable the viewing of hidden and system folders. |
yeah, i am so used to doing it via my ppc with file explorer i neglect the notion of users using activesync.
