GPS Primer and Live Search

I am currently using the sprint mogul with 6.1 and am unable use gps. Before updating to 6.1 I was using microsoft live search and it worked well. After updating I couldnt get it to work and was told I needed a primer so I instlled GPS Viewer. Im not exactly sure how to use it except that I make sure both programs are set to com4 and 4800, I 'open gps' in viewer but never get a position when centering on GPS in live search. Am I missing something in the settings or should I use a different program? Thanks!

That is weird, I am running the latest ROM with 6.1 and Live Search works fine with out a primer. Try changing com4 to GPS Intermediate Driver and see if you can get Live Search to work without the primer. Also check under setting, external GPS to see if it is set to Com4. Hope this helps ya.

Just a thought....did you check is your "location" enabled? I have similar problem before and then I realize the "location" was disabled for some reason after upgrade.

I'm having the same problem. Can't get GPS to work since upgrading to 6.1. Any help would be great!

i too am using 6.1 with live search with no problems, try re-installing live or something like that and have the GPS to auto set the com...

I have download Google maps as well and can't get that to work either.

You guys are probably forgetting the Location (E911) settings and the COM 4 settings.

Start->Settings->Personal tab-->Phone->Services Tab->Location Setting.

not sure if this helps, i have an xv6800 (verizon is my carrier). I prime with GPS Viewer 1.5 then run either Google Maps or Live Search, I run them at the same time.

However sometimes the GPS won't lock, try giving your phone a soft reset, its the only way it works for me.

xv6800, (3.42.30, dcd 3.2.5).
