Picture Storage Capacity - Internal Memory vs. Storage Card

I have a 16 GB storage card (~ 8 GB free) in the side of my Imagio and I noticed today while fooling around with the camera settings that the "number of pictures remaining" that shows up in the upper right hand corner when you hit the menu tab is significantly less than if I have 'internal memory' selected as my save location in settings. I don't understand it. The ~ 8 GB is a good bit more free space than my internal memory. I fooled around with the enabling DCIM reg key, changing storage locations, etc. but nothing seems to affect it. Pict quality settings certainly increase the change of remaining picts but the increase is porportional across the storage card and internal memory.

Anyone else notice that setting the storage card 'caps' the number of picts or know why this is?

Thanks!

I got a 5300 remainning in my 8GB sd card with ~6gb free space. I think the system may miss calculated the total capacity of your memory card. Maybe some new patch or update can fix it in the fewture.

I am having the same problem. I have about 8GB free and it says I can only take 5 pictures. When I 1st noticed the problem, I had the SD card speed tweak cab installed, so I uninstalled it and everything went back to normal. But, a few days later the same problem came back. Would love to figure this our wo/ having to start from scratch with a hard reset.

Yea, it's a little bizzare. I decided to do a hard reset tonight to take care of a bunch of little things that were bothering me and right now with 5 MP and 'fine' quality, I'm showing 314 storage card and 300 internal memory.

I'd be interested to know what Razor's pict settings look like to end up with 5700 shots available) as well as what card ebayking is using. Could this be a 16 GB card thing? In case you care I have a SanDisk Model SDSDQ-016G-A11M 16 GB card installed :).
